What would I have wanted to have with me when I joined the service?

Hello, future soldier!

Like each of us, I vividly remember the day I entered the gates of the garrison. Excitement and expectations were high, but at the same time a question was running through my mind: Did I miss something very important?

I had googled a few search terms such as "What to take with you to the service" and "What to take with you to the service", but the results were a bit circular

To share with you my own insights and experiences, I want to share what I would have wanted in my gear for an int from day one.

 

1. Key chain:

Imagine the situation: morning, freezing rush, and the keys are lost. That little key chain hanging on my belt was a lifesaver in many situations. I always knew where my keys were and didn't have to stress about lost keys.

 

2. Carabiner hook:

In a hurry, all important things could be forgotten. I remember attaching my field bottles and other handy items to carabiner clips in my backpack. They were always close at hand, and I didn't have to dig through my backpack to find something important.

 

3. Pant blousers:

According to the service rules, the pounds must hang over the landing shoe, and it is difficult to follow this rule without aids. With pant blousers the punches are kept in good condition throughout the day's service. When you put these on properly in the morning, you don't need to touch the pounds for the rest of the day.

 

4. Drinking cup:

Breaks were precious time, and the cup that went conveniently inside the food box was always there. There was nothing better than enjoying a cup of instant coffee at a forest camp. It felt like a small luxury in the middle of the field conditions.

 

5. Headlamp:

The night exercises were dark, and a headlamp was absolutely necessary. It lit my way forward and made the dark nights a little brighter. A little guy who made a big difference.

 

6. Knife:

The knife soon became one of my most important tools. When cooking, making a campfire or in many other situations, it was my reliable partner. Practicality and versatility made it irreplaceable.

 

7. Boresnake:

Cleaning your gun may not be the most glamorous thing to do, but it is necessary. The Boresnake was like my secret weapon, helping me keep my gun in top condition in the field.
